High-Precision Hardened Gear Shaft & Pinion Shaft – Carburizing + Hardening, DIN Grade 5
Gear shafts are core components of transmission equipment such as reducers, hoists, and crushers, subject to alternating loads, impact loads, and high contact stress. Sankuang Machinery adopts a proven high-precision gear shaft manufacturing process route.
Process Route:
Forged blank → normalizing + tempering → rough turning → ultrasonic testing (UT) → semi-finish turning → rough gear cutting (hobbing/shaping) → quenching & tempering → finish turning → gear cutting → carburizing + hardening → shaft finishing → gear grinding (worm grinding or profile grinding) → keyway/hole machining → final inspection → anti-rust packaging
Technical Capabilities:
Gear diameter capacity: Up to several meters (heavy equipment grade)
Machining accuracy: Up to DIN/ISO/GB Grade 5
Tooth types: Spur gears, helical gears, splines (rectangular spline/involute spline)
Material options: 20CrMnTi, 20CrNi2Mo, 20CrNiMo, 40CrNiMoA, 42CrMo (selected based on working conditions)
Heat treatment: Carburizing + hardening (case depth 0.8-1.5mm), induction hardening, nitriding
Surface hardness: HRC 58-62 after carburizing + hardening, core hardness HRC 30-45, balancing tooth wear resistance and core impact toughness
Inspection Methods: CMM, gear inspection center, spectrometer, Rockwell hardness tester, magnetic particle inspection (MT), ultrasonic testing (UT).
Typical Applications: Reducer input/output shafts, mine hoist drive shafts, crusher gear shafts, ball mill pinion shafts, rolling mill drive shafts.
