High-Rigidity Gear Shaft Machining: Precision Grinding & Gear Cutting Based on Center Hole Reference
As the core of power transmission, the machining quality of a gear shaft directly affects equipment noise and service life. We adhere to a rigorous process datum principle: initially using the outer diameter as a rough reference for drilling center holes at both ends, and then employing double center hole positioning for all subsequent operations (rough turning, finish turning, hobbing) to achieve datum unification, ensuring alignment between design and processing references. For gear shafts with through-hole structures, we use tapered plugs or tapered mandrels with center holes for auxiliary support, guaranteeing coaxiality between the outer diameter and inner bore. During the gear profile machining stage, we employ high-precision hobbing machines for hard gear machining. For drive shafts in wheeled machinery and tractors, this process effectively reduces heat treatment deformation and achieves high-precision tooth profiles in a single pass. Finished gear shafts exhibit high bending and torsional strength, making them suitable for various reducers, automotive transmissions, and construction machinery travel drives.
